Crisis Resource Management (CRM) in Healthcare

Originally defined in the airline industry as "Crew Resource Management," it promotes safety by addressing the behavioural and cognitive skills needed to effectively manage all available resources, especially during a crisis situation. This can be accomplished through the development of superior non-technical skills such communication, teamwork, situational awareness and leadership.
The Centre for Simluation-Based Learning uses high-fidelity simulation as a platform on which to realistically train healthcare workers in a low-risk, interprofessional environment.
